
Why we built our outdoor heaters to be modular
If you’ve ever managed outdoor heating, you know the drill. A few years go by, the weather beats up the housing, a heating element pops, and suddenly you’re staring at a giant piece of expensive scrap metal. It’s frustrating. And honestly? It’s a waste. That’s why we did things differently with our IP65 garden heaters. We went with a modular design so that fixing a problem doesn’t feel like a total demolition project. The problem with “permanent” parts Most companies just weld the heating assembly straight into the chassis. It’s cheap for them to build, but a nightmare for you. If one tube goes, the whole unit is basically toast. We took a different route. We decoupled the infrared modules from the main weather-proof shell. Now, if an element burns out, you just swap it. You don’t have to mess with the main seal or tear the whole thing apart just to get to one broken part. Keeping the rain out Here is the tricky part: IP65 ratings are all about that tight seal. It keeps the dust out and the rain from ruining your electronics. The problem is that once you break that seal to fix something, it’s really hard to get it perfectly tight again. That’s usually when the leaks start. We solved this by adding a dedicated access port. You just unscrew a few clips, pull the old module out, and slide a new one in. It’s fast. Really fast. You don’t have to rewire the guts of the machine or dismantle the frame. Just swap the part and you’re back in business. The honest trade-off Now, look—nothing is perfect. By using modular connectors instead of hard-wiring everything, we’ve added more contact points. Since these heaters get hot and then cool down, those junctions can expand and contract. To handle that, we use high-temp terminals that won’t melt or warp. But, you’ll still want to give those connections a quick torque check during your first year of service. Just to make sure nothing backed out while the heater was doing its thing. The big picture At the end of the day, this turns your heater from a disposable gadget into a piece of equipment you actually own. You stop spending a fortune on entirely new units and start spending a few bucks on simple replacement parts. Plus, it makes your life easier. You only need to keep a few spare tubes on the shelf instead of hoarding entire heaters in a warehouse.
