Ever feel like your blow molding line is holding you hostage? It happens all the time. You buy a machine, and suddenly you’re locked into one specific brand of lamps because the specs are “proprietary.” It’s frustrating. You’re stuck paying a premium just because the lamp is the only one that fits the slot. We got tired of that. So, we built our infrared lamps to break that cycle. We focused on the actual footprints and electrical tolerances that matter, meaning our lamps just slide right in. In fact, they work with over 95% of the blowing equipment out there. No hacks, no modifications. Just a simple swap.
How we make it fit
It really comes down to three things: how long it is, the voltage, and the connector. We stuck with the industry workhorses—R7s and Sk15 connectors. If your machine uses those, you’re golden. You can wire our lamps up without having to mess around with your sockets. As for power, we’ve got you covered whether you’re running 220V or a beefier 400V system. We calibrate the tungsten filament to make sure you get the heat density you need. Just a heads-up: if you go with high-voltage tubes, they pack a bigger punch, but you’ll want to double-check that your cooling fans can handle the extra heat in the oven.
The tech under the hood
We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because it lets shortwave radiation hit the PET preform fast. To keep the lamps from burning out too quickly, we fill them with halogen gas. This basically pushes evaporated tungsten back onto the filament. It’s a simple trick, but it makes the lamps last a lot longer. Plus, some of our tubes have special coatings. These shift the emission spectrum so you can hit the plastic more accurately and stop wasting energy.
Real talk: Don’t touch the glass
Here’s the thing about the shop floor. These lamps live in a brutal, high-heat environment. We’ve made them as tough as possible, but they still have one weakness:fingerprints. If you touch the quartz with your bare hands during installation, the oils from your skin create hot spots. Those spots are where the tube will eventually fail. It’s a small detail, but it’s a big deal. Wear your gloves, slide them into the clips, and they’ll keep humming along until your next scheduled maintenance. Simple as that.
