Stop Overpaying for Krones Contiform Heater Modules
Let’s be honest: keeping Krones Contiform machines running is expensive. The OEM parts work, but the price tags are brutal. We decided to build PET preform heater modules that do the exact same job as the factory originals, but without the “brand name” tax on your maintenance budget. The goal is simple: get that infrared heat hitting the preform perfectly so your wall thickness stays consistent. No weak spots, no wasted plastic.
The Guts: Power and Heat
Inside these modules, we use high-wattage quartz lamps. We picked these specifically because high-speed PET lines are relentless—they cycle fast and they don’t stop. By using high-voltage setups, we can keep the heater footprint small while cranking up the heat density. You’ll notice the ramp-up time is faster. But a heads-up: that extra power puts more stress on your electrical contacts.**Make sure your wiring is tight.**If it’s loose, you’re asking for arcing at the terminals, and nobody wants that.
Built to Last (and Fit)
We didn’t cut corners on the materials. We use heavy-wall quartz glass so the lamps don’t burn out the moment things get intense. The reflectors are polished to a mirror finish, which basically forces every bit of IR energy straight into the preform. As for the install? It’s a breeze. Depending on how old your machine is, we use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. You just pull the old one out and drop ours in.No rewiring. No headaches.
A Few Real-World Tips
Here is the trade-off: when you run these modules at full tilt, they get hot. Really hot. This is where “heat soak” comes into play. If your cooling blowers are clogged with dust or just plain worn out, the module housing will overheat. That kills your lamp life faster than anything else. Keep your ventilation clean, and these things will hum along just fine. We built these to take a beating in a 24/7 factory environment. You get the same thermal performance you’re used to—just more money left in your pocket.
